Nestled in a magnificent majestic valley at the base of the Gold Coast's Mount Tamborine, Managing Director / Oenologist Robert Thumm continues his family's three hundred year heritage of viticulture and winemaking. Beginning in one of the most delightful wine producing regions of Europe - the Neckar Valley in Germany - it progressed to Australia when Robert's father, Herman, emigrated in 1946.
Thumm Estate Winery presents an idyllic setting for picnics and walking, surrounded by handcrafted gardens and lakes. There are underground cellars for bottle storage and where ancient large port vats are housed as well as the world's first highly nutritional grape superspread manufacturing plant, all which can be viewed by the public.
The Winery, Cellar Door / Tastings and Alfresco dining are open every day of the year excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day.
